I suggest,
{2:252} Those are the verses of God which We recite to you [, O Muhammad], in truth. And verily, you surely are from among the Envoys.

{2:253} Those messengers - some of them We caused to exceed others. Among them were those to whom God spoke, and He raised some of them in degree. And We gave Jesus, the Son of Mary, clear proofs, and We supported him with the Pure Spirit. If God had willed, those [generations] succeeding them would not have fought each other after the clear proofs had come to them. But they differed, and some of them believed and some of them disbelieved. And if God had willed, they would not have fought each other, but God does what He intends.

Excellent translation except for the translation of روح القدس as "the Pure Spirit." I like to stick to the Arabic words used and translate them directly whenever possible. In this case, I'd translate it "the Spirit of Holiness."

I suggest,
{2:253} Those messengers - We made some of them exceed others. Among them were those to whom God spoke, and He raised some of them degrees. And We granted Jesus, the son of Mary, the clear proofs, and We aided him with the Spirit of Holiness. And if God had willed, those [generations] after them would not have fought each other after the clear proofs had come to them. But they differed, so among them were those who believed and among them were those who disbelieved. And if God had willed, they would not have fought each other, but God does what He wants.

{2:254} O you who have believed, spend from that which We have provided for you before there comes a Day in which there is no exchange and no friendship and no intercession. And the disbelievers - they are the wrongdoers.

I suggest,
{2:254} O you who have believed, spend from what We have provided you before there comes a Day wherein is no merchandising, nor friendship nor mediation. And the disbelievers - they are the wrongdoers.

Hear, hear. It is a straightforward translation, and it also avoids being mixed up with "Holy Spirit" that has acquired other connotations.

I am not sure it should be capitalized, though. Although the consensus is that it is referring to the angel Gabriel (PBUH), it seems like an attribute/description of him rather than an outright name. At least considering it a name would be interpretive.

Point well taken. It's not a proper name; more like an honorary title.
