Quote:
{4:107} And do not argue on behalf of those who deceive themselves. Indeed, God loves not one who is a habitually sinful deceiver.

I suggest,
{4:107} And do not argue on behalf of those who betray themselves. Verily, God does not like one who has been treacherous, sinful.

Quote:
{4:108} They conceal [their evil intentions and deeds] from the people, but they cannot conceal [them] from God, and He is with them [in His knowledge] when they spend the night in such as He does not accept of speech. And ever is God, of what they do, encompassing.

There is a subtle meaning in وهو معهم that should be carried over in the translation. To say, "and He is with them" falls short, IMHO. Yusuf Ali and Asad got that subtlety. I suggest,

{4:108} They attempt to hide [their evil intentions] from the people, but they do not attempt to hide from God, even as He is [present] with them when they spend the night [saying] what He does not approve of uttering. And ever has God been, of what they do, encompassing.

Quote:
{4:109} Here you are - those who argue on their behalf in [this] worldly life - but who will argue with God for them on the Day of Resurrection, or who will [then] be their representative?

I suggest,
{4:109} Here you are arguing on their behalf in [this] the nearest life - but who [will] argue with God for them on the Day of Resurrection, or be for them a representative?
