Quote:
{4:125} And who is better in religion than one who submits himself to God while being a doer of good and follows the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth? And God took Abraham as an intimate friend.
I believe we settled on translating
ملة as "doctrine," so I sugegst,
{4:125} And who is better in religion than one who has yielded his face (submitted) to God while being a benefactor and followed the doctrine of Abraham, inclining toward truth? And God took for Himself Abraham as a close friend.Quote:
{4:126} And to God belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And ever is God, of all things, encompassing.
The Arabic says "in the earth", not on it. Perhaps you agree with me that "on the earth" excludes what is under it, while "in the earth" does not exclude what is above its surface. If so, then I suggest,
{4:126} And to God belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth. And ever has God been, of everything, encompassing.
