Quote:
{5:54} O you who have believed, whoever of you should revert from his religion - God will bring forth [in place of them] a people He will love and who will love Him [who are] humble toward the believers, powerful against the disbelievers; they strive in the cause of God and do not fear the blame of a critic. That is the favor of God; He bestows it upon whom He wills. And God is all-Encompassing and Knowing.
I suggest,
{5:54} O you who have believed, whoever of you should revert from his religion - then God will bring forth [in place of them] a folk He loves and who love Him, [who are] humble toward the believers, mighty against the disbelievers; they strive in the cause of God and do not fear a blame from a blamer. That is the bounty of God; He grants it to whom He wills. And God is Capacious, All-Knowing.Quote:
{5:55} Your ally is none but God and [therefore] His Messenger and those who have believed - those who establish prayer and give zakah, and they bow [in worship].
The interjection "[therefore]" is a strange interpretation. None of the other translators understood it that way and neither do I. The Arabic simply makes a list of the proper allies of Muslims.
I suggest,
{5:55} Verily, Your ally is none but God, His Messenger and those who have believed - those who establish prayer and give alms, and they are bowing [in worship of God].Quote:
{5:56} And whoever is an ally of God and His Messenger and those who have believed - indeed, the party of God - they will be the predominant.
I suggest,
{5:56} And whoever allies with God, His Messenger and those who have believed, then verily the party of God are the ones prevailing.
