Quote:
{6:74} And [mention, O Muhammad], when Abraham said to his father Azar, "Do you take idols as deities? Indeed, I see you and your people to be in manifest error."

I suggest,
{6:74} And [mention, O Muhammad], as Abraham said to his father Aazar, "Do you take for yourself idols as deities? Verily, I see you and your people to be in clear misguidance."

Quote:
{6:75} And thus did We show Abraham the realm of the heavens and the earth that he would be among the certain [in faith]

I love the translation "realm!"

I suggest,
{6:75} And thus We show Abraham the realm of the heavens and the earth so that he would be among the certain [in faith].

Quote:
{6:76} So when the night covered him [with darkness], he saw a star. He said, "This is my lord." But when it set, he said, "I like not those that disappear."

I'd only change "I like not" to "I do not like".

I suggest,
{6:76} So once has overshadowed him the night, he saw a celestial body. He said, "This is my lord." Then once it declined, he said, "I do not like decliners."

Quote:
{6:77} And when he saw the moon rising, he said, "This is my lord." But when it set, he said, "Unless my Lord guides me, I will surely be among the people gone astray."

I suggest,
{6:77} Then once he saw the moon incandescent, he said, "This is my lord." Then once it declined, he said, "Surely unless my Lord guides me, I will surely be among the straying folk."

Quote:
{6:78} And when he saw the sun rising, he said, "This is my lord; this is greater." But when it set, he said, "O my people, indeed I am free from what you associate with God.

I suggest,
{6:78} Then once he saw the sun incandescent, he said, "This is my lord; this is bigger." Then once it declined, he said, "O my people, verily, I am absolved of what you associate [with God in worship]."

Quote:
{6:79} Indeed, I have turned my face toward He who created the heavens and the earth, inclining toward truth, and I am not of those who associate others with God."

I suggest,
{6:79} "Verily, I have directed my face toward Him who originated the heavens and the earth, inclining toward truth, and I am not of those associating [others with God in worship]."
