{97:1} Indeed, We sent the Quran down during the Night of Decree.

{97:2} And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree?

{97:3} The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.

The translation "The Night of Decree" is erroneous and that kind of error is common. القدر means "status", "grandeur" or "esteem." "Decree" translates القضاء. I suggest,

{97:1} Verily, We sent it down (the Quran) during the Night of Grandeur.
{97:2} And what could make you understand what the Night of Grandeur is?
{97:3} The Night of Grandeur is better than a thousand months.

I suggest "perceive" in place of "understand."

BTW, Grandeur is an excellent choice.
