Good translation, but I'd rather reserve "exalted" to translate تعالى and use "sanctified" to translate سبحان. So my suggestion is,

{2:116} And they said, "God has taken for Himself a son." Sanctified is He! Rather, to Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth. All are to Him are devoting,

Quote:
{2:117} Originator of the heavens and the earth. When He decrees a matter, He only says to it, "Be," and it is.

I suggest,
{2:117} Perfecter of the heavens and the earth. And when He has decreed a matter, then verily He only says to it, "Be," and it is.
