Quote:
{89:6} Have you not considered how your Lord dealt with `Aad -

I suggest,
{89:6} Did you not see how your Lord did to [the tribe of] `Aad?

Quote:
{89:7} [With] Iram - who had lofty pillars,

I suggest,
{89:7} [Of the city of] Iram, with tall pillars?

Quote:
{89:8} The likes of whom had never been created in the land?

I suggest,
{89:8} The likes of which had never been created in the land?

Quote:
{89:9} And [with] Thamud, who carved out the rocks in the valley?

I suggest,
{89:9} And [to] Thamood, who pierced the rocks by the valley?

Quote:
{89:10} And [with] Pharaoh, owner of the stakes? -

There are many interpretations of what الأوتاد means and you can see that in the alternative translations. Like always, I like to stay with the linguistic meaning of words, so I suggest,
{89:10} And [to] Pharaoh with the pegs.

Quote:
{89:11} [All of] whom oppressed within the lands

I suggest,
{89:11} [All of] whom transgressed in the lands,

Quote:
{89:12} And increased therein the corruption.

I suggest,
{89:12} Thereby proliferated therein corruption.

Quote:
{89:13} So your Lord poured upon them a scourge of punishment.

I suggest,
{89:13} So your Lord deluged upon them a whip of torment.

Quote:
{89:14} Indeed, your Lord is in observation.

Asad's translation is best. I suggest,
{89:14} Verily, your Lord is [always] on the watch.
