{85:10} Indeed, those who have tortured the believing men and believing women and then have not repented will have the punishment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the Burning Fire.

I suggest,
{85:10} Verily, those who tried the believing men and believing women and then did not repent, for them is the torment of Hell and for them is the torment of Burning.

I agree with "torment" but I feel "tried" is milder than the Arabic word.

Agree, but I couldn't think of another word. The four alternative translations all used "persecuted" and this translation used "tortured." While those translations are all technically correct, they lose the trial semantic of فتنوا, the test of faith aspect.
