Quote:
{7:189} It is He who created you from one soul and created from it its mate that he might dwell in security with her. And when he covers her, she carries a light burden and continues therein. And when it becomes heavy, they both invoke God, their Lord, "If You should give us a good [child], we will surely be among the grateful."

"Dwell in security" is a good translation but it doesn't quite carry the semantic of tranquility and comfort conveyed by the Arabic, so I suggest,
{7:189} It is He who created you from one soul and created from it its mate so that he may relax with her. And once he covered her (mated with her), she carried a light load (became pregnant) and passed with it. And once she weighed down, they both called upon God, their Lord, "Surely if You should grant us a righteous [child], we will surely be among the thankful."

Quote:
{7:190} But when He gives them a good [child], they ascribe partners to Him concerning that which He has given them. Exalted is God above what they associate with Him.

I suggest,
{7:190} But once He granted them a righteous [child], they set partners with Him in what He has granted them. But exalted is God above what they associate [with Him in worship].

Quote:
{7:191} Do they associate with Him those who create nothing and they are [themselves] created?

I suggest,
{7:191} Do they associate with Him those who create nothing while they [themselves] are created?

Quote:
{7:192} And the false deities are unable to [give] them help, nor can they help themselves.

"False deities" is an interpretation and it is a good one, but it is not in the Arabic text. What is meant is whomever the couple has associated with God after their righteous child was born. It's a continuation of the previous two verses. I suggest not using an interpretation,
{7:192} And they cannot be to them [any] help, nor [can] they help themselves.
