I suggest,

{7:152} Verily, those who took for themselves the calf [for worship] will soon reach them wrath from their Lord and humiliation in [this] the nearest life, and thus do We recompense the calumniating.

{7:153} And those who acted misdeeds and then repented thereafter and believed - verily, your Lord, thereafter, surely is much Forgiving, Merciful.

Not a translation issue (please feel free to delete this and the previous remark as you see fit), but I noticed in


that the reference to the humiliation in this world is made in the future tense. My understanding is that those addressed lived at the time of Moses (PBUH), and I wonder if the verse means that there are generations of these people that went on with the worship of the calf until (at least) the time of the Prophet (PBUH).
