I suggest, {6:42} And We have certainly sent to communities before you [, O Muhammad]; then We seized them with distress and hardship that perhaps they might implore [Us for relief]. {6:43} Then if only as distress from Us came to them did they implore [Us], but their hearts became callous and Satan embellished for them what were doing. {6:44} So, when they forgot what they were reminded of, We opened to them the doors of everything until, when they rejoiced in what they were given, We seized them abruptly, then all of a sudden they were despondent. {6:45} So was severed the trail of the folk who have wronged. And praise is to God, Lord of the worlds. |
