Quote:
{6:46} Say, "Have you considered: if God should take away your hearing and your sight and set a seal upon your hearts, which deity other than God could bring them [back] to you?" Look how we diversify the verses; then they [still] turn away.
{6:47} Say, "Have you considered: if the punishment of God should come to you unexpectedly or manifestly, will any be destroyed but the wrongdoing people?"
This is one place where "verses" must be changed to "
signs." God is giving example of two of His signs, hearing and eyesight. It makes no sense to translate
آيات here to "verses."
I suggest,
{6:46} Say, "Have you seen (considered): if God had taken away your hearing and your sights and sealed upon your hearts, which deity other than God would bring you it [back]?" Look how we diversify the signs; and then they yaw.{6:47} Say, "Has [any of] you seen yourselves: if there had come to you the torment from of God abruptly or openly, are [any] destroyed but the wrongdoing folk?"
