Quote:
{6:46} Say, "Have you considered: if God should take away your hearing and your sight and set a seal upon your hearts, which deity other than God could bring them [back] to you?" Look how we diversify the verses; then they [still] turn away.

{6:47} Say, "Have you considered: if the punishment of God should come to you unexpectedly or manifestly, will any be destroyed but the wrongdoing people?"

This is one place where "verses" must be changed to "signs." God is giving example of two of His signs, hearing and eyesight. It makes no sense to translate آيات here to "verses."

I suggest,
{6:46} Say, "Have you seen (considered): if God had taken away your hearing and your sights and sealed upon your hearts, which deity other than God would bring you it [back]?" Look how we diversify the signs; and then they yaw.

{6:47} Say, "Has [any of] you seen yourselves: if there had come to you the torment from of God abruptly or openly, are [any] destroyed but the wrongdoing folk?"
