Quote:
{60:1} O you who have believed, do not take My enemies and your enemies as allies, extending to them affection while they have disbelieved in what came to you of the truth, having driven out the Prophet and yourselves [only] because you believe in God, your Lord. If you have come out for jihad in My cause and seeking means to My approval, [take them not as friends]. You confide to them affection, but I am most knowing of what you have concealed and what you have declared. And whoever does it among you has certainly strayed from the soundness of the way.
I suggest,
{60:1} O you who have believed, do not take My enemy and your enemy for allies, offering to them comity while they have disbelieved in what has came to you of the truth, having driven out the Prophet and yourselves [for no reason other than] that you believe in God, your Lord, if you have come out striving for My cause and seeking My approval. You skulk to them with comity, but I am more knowing of what you have concealed and what you have declared. And whoever does it among you has certainly strayed from the level road.Quote:
{60:2} If they gain dominance over you, they would be to you as enemies and extend against you their hands and their tongues with evil, and they wish you would disbelieve.
I suggest,
{60:2} Should they nab you, they would be to you enemies and extend to you their hands and their tongues with evil, and loved [it] if you disbelieve.
