Quote:
{58:14} Have you not considered those who make allies of a people with whom God has become angry? They are neither of you nor of them, and they swear to untruth while they know [they are lying].
I want to translate رأى إلى differently from رأى. I could not find a translation that made the distinction without using a verb other than "to see". So, I suggest,
{58:14} Did you not see through those who took for ally a folk whom God got angry with? They are neither of you nor of them, and they swear to untruth while they know.Quote:
{58:15} God has prepared for them a severe punishment. Indeed, it was evil that they were doing.
I suggest,
{58:15} God has prepared for them a severe torment. Verily, they - it was evil what they were doing.Quote:
{58:16} They took their [false] oaths as a cover, so they averted [people] from the way of God, and for them is a humiliating punishment.
I suggest,
{58:16} They used their oaths as a cover, thus they shunned [people] from the way of God. Therefore, for them is a humiliating torment.Quote:
{58:17} Never will their wealth or their children avail them against God at all. Those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally
I suggest,
{58:17} Never availing them will be their wealth nor their children against God at all. Those are the inmates of the Fire; they therein are staying eternally,
