Quote:
{52:9} On the Day the heaven will sway with circular motion

I love Pickthall's translation of تمور as "to heave." I suggest,
{52:9} The Day the sky heaves quite a heaving,

Quote:
{52:10} And the mountains will pass on, departing -

I suggest,
{52:10} And the mountains proceed quite a procession -

Quote:
{52:11} Then woe, that Day, to the deniers,

I suggest,
{52:11} Then woe, that Day, to the belying,

Quote:
{52:12} Who are in [empty] discourse amusing themselves.

I suggest,
{52:12} Who are in indulge, playing.

Quote:
{52:13} The Day they are thrust toward the fire of Hell with a [violent] thrust, [its angels will say],

I suggest,
{52:13} The Day they are thrust into the fire of Gehenna (Hell) quite a thrusting,

Quote:
{52:14} "This is the Fire which you used to deny.

I suggest,
{52:14} [It will be said to them,] "This is the Fire which you used to belie."

Quote:
{52:15} Then is this magic, or do you not see?

I suggest,
{52:15} "Is this then magic, or do you not see?"

Quote:
{52:16} [Enter to] burn therein; then be patient or impatient - it is all the same for you. You are only being recompensed [for] what you used to do."

I suggest,
{52:16} "Feel its singe; then endure or not endure - [it is all] the same for you. You are only being recompensed [for] what you had been doing."
