Good translation, except for "on the earth." The Arabic says "in the earth." To translate it "on the earth" means that what's in the earth may not be included! Since, in Arabic,
السماوات means everything that is above the earth, the expression "in the heavens and in the earth" covers all beings, while "in the heavens and
on on the earth" doesn't.
I suggest,
{4:131} And to God belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth. And We did commend those who were granted the Book before you and yourselves to watch out for God. But if you disbelieve - then verily to God belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth. And ever has God been Need-Free, Praiseworthy.Quote:
{4:132} And to God belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And sufficient is God as Disposer of affairs.
Same issue with "in the earth." Also, "Trustee" is a better translation of
وكيل, IMHO.
