Quote:
{45:2} The revelation of the Book is from God, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

Since العزيز literally means "the unbeatable," I'd like to use that instead of "Exalted in might" though the latter is also a good translation.

Quote:
{45:4} And in the creation of yourselves and what He disperses of moving creatures are signs for people who are certain [in faith].

I'd only change "the creation of yourselves" to "creating you." There is no word or phrase in the Arabic verse to justify the use of "yourselves" in the translation.

Quote:
{45:5} And [in] the alternation of night and day and [in] what God sends down from the sky of provision and gives life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness and [in His] directing of the winds are signs for a people who reason.

{45:6} These are the verses of God which We recite to you in truth. Then in what statement after God and His verses will they believe?

A great translation :-)

Somehow, "unbeatable" doesn't convey the meaning of العزيز to me. Other uses of the word in the Qurran, e.g.,

suggest "unattainable" or something similar.

Good point. We also know that عزيز means close to the heart, as in

This word certainly belongs in the "Words hard to translate" forum :)

I had wanted to reserve "Mighty" to translate مجيد, but on second thought a better translation for it would be Glorious.

{45:1} Ha (H), Meem (M).

{45:2} A sending-down of the Book from God, the Almighty, the Wise.

{45:3} Verily, in the heavens and the earth surely are signs for the believers.

{45:4} And in creating you and what He disperses of moving creature are signs for a folk who are certain [in faith].

{45:5} And [in] the alternation of night and the day and [in] what God sends down from the sky of provision and revives thereby the earth after its death and [in His] directing of the winds are signs for a folk who reason.

{45:6} Those are the signs of God which We relate to you in truth. Then in what narrative after God and His signs do they believe?
