Quote:
{43:57} And when the son of Mary was presented as an example, immediately your people laughed aloud.

I suggest,
{43:57} And when the son of Mary was cited as an example, all of a sudden your people at him jeer.

Quote:
{43:58} And they said, "Are your gods better, or is he?" They did not present the comparison except for [mere] argument. But, [in fact], they are a people prone to dispute.

There is a clear error in the above translation. The verse says "our gods", not "your gods." Also, there is an oversight of forgetting to translate لك (to you). I suggest,
{43:58} And they said, "Are our gods better, or he?" They did not cite him to you except [for] bickering. Nay, they are an antagonistic folk.

Quote:
{43:59} Jesus was not but a servant upon whom We bestowed favor, and We made him an example for the Children of Israel.

I suggest,
{43:59} He (Jesus) was but a worshiper upon whom We bestowed favor, and We made him an example for the Children of Israel.

Quote:
{43:60} And if We willed, We could have made [instead] of you angels succeeding [one another] on the earth.

The above translation and many other have assumed that يخلفون means "come one after the other." But the more likely meaning is "be Our agent in the earth [instead]." The reason I think so, is because the same verb has been used in the Quran before for that semantic,

For this reason, I suggest this translation for 43:60,
{43:60} And if We willed, We would have made of you angels in the earth, acing as agents.

Quote:
{43:61} And indeed, Jesus will be [a sign for] knowledge of the Hour, so be not in doubt of it, and follow Me. This is a straight path.

I suggest,
{43:61} And verily, he (Jesus) will be a notion for the Hour, so do not be leery of it, and follow Me. This is a straight path.
