Quote:
{3:23} Do you not consider, [O Muhammad], those who were given a portion of the Scripture? They are invited to the Scripture of God that it should arbitrate between them; then a party of them turns away, and they are refusing.
I don't think that
يُدعَوْن starts a new sentence. So, I'd translate this verse as follows,
{3:23} Did you not see to those who were granted a share of the Book, when they were called to the Book of God to arbitrate between them, then a segment of them turns away while they are veering aside?Quote:
{3:24} That is because they say, "Never will the Fire touch us except for [a few] numbered days," and [because] they were deluded in their religion by what they were inventing.
I suggest,
{3:24} That is because they said, "Never will the Fire touch us except for [a few] numbered days." And deluded them in their religion what they have been inventing [in it].Quote:
{3:25} So how will it be when We assemble them for a Day about which there is no doubt? And each soul will be compensated [in full for] what it earned, and they will not be wronged.
I love that translation
I'd only change the tense to a past tense like in the Arabic:
{3:25} So how [will it be] when We have assembled them for a Day no doubt is there about it? Then is fully compensated every soul [for] what it has earned, and they are not wronged.
