Quote:
{3:95} Say, "God has told the truth. So follow the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth; and he was not of the polytheists."

We discussed the translation of ملة before. It means a way of life, approach to matters or view of the world. The word "religion" is inadequate to convey those meanings. I suggest,

{3:95} Say, "God has told the truth. So follow the way of Abraham, inclining [toward truth]; and he was not of the polytheists."

Quote:
{3:96} Indeed, the first House [of worship] established for mankind was that at Makkah - blessed and a guidance for the worlds.

The Arabic says "Bakka", which corresponds to the Hebrew name for Mecca that was used in ancient times, Baca, and mentioned in the Old Testament. So I suggest "Baca".

{3:96} Verily, the first House [of worship] laid down for mankind is that at Baca - blessed and a guidance for the worlds.

Quote:
{3:97} In it are clear signs [such as] the standing place of Abraham. And whoever enters it shall be safe. And [due] to God from the people is a pilgrimage to the House - for whoever is able to find thereto a way. But whoever disbelieves - then indeed, God is free from need of the worlds.

I suggest,
{3:97} In it are clear signs: the station of Abraham. And whoever enters it shall be safe. And [due] to God upon the people is pilgrimage to the House - for whoever could [find] thereto a way. But whoever has disbelieved - then verily, God is free from need of the worlds.

Did "doctrine" fall out of favor? :)

Yeah, didn't we agree to use that before? I need to keep track better. I'm thinking of adding a new subforum, "Dictionary", where we can keep track of word and/or phrase translations that members have agreed on. So, it should be,

{3:95} Say, "God has told the truth. So follow the doctrine of Abraham, inclining toward truth; and he was not of the polytheists."
