Quote:
{3:161} It is not [attributable] to any prophet that he would act unfaithfully [in regard to war booty]. And whoever betrays, [taking unlawfully], will come with what he took on the Day of Resurrection. Then will every soul be [fully] compensated for what it earned, and they will not be wronged.
يغل means "to grab more than one's share." So, a better translation, IMHO, would be,
{3:161} It is not for any prophet that he would unfairly divide [the spoils of war]. And whoever unfairly takes [more than his share], will come with what he took on the Day of Resurrection. Then will every soul be [fully] compensated for what it earned, and they will not be wronged.Quote:
{3:162} So is one who pursues the pleasure of God like one who brings upon himself the anger of God and whose refuge is Hell? And wretched is the destination.
The last sentence is an exclamation (أسلوب ذم), so I'd translates it, "What a wretched destination that is!"
