But [instead], God picks out of His messengers whom He wills, so believe in God and His messengers. And if you believe and watch out [for God], then for you is a great reward.Quote:
{3:180} And let not those who [greedily] withhold what God has given them of His bounty ever think that it is better for them. Rather, it is worse for them. Their necks will be encircled by what they withheld on the Day of Resurrection. And to God belongs the heritage of the heavens and the earth. And God, with what you do, is [fully] Acquainted.
Excellent translation. I'll only make slight edits,
{3:180} And never should reckon those who hold back what God has granted them of His bounty that it is better for them. Rather, it is worse for them. They will be yoked by what they held back on the Day of Resurrection. And to God belongs the heritage of the heavens and the earth. And God, of what you do, is All-Aware.
