I'd change "punishment" to "torment". Also, the verse says that what he was protected from were the evils of what they had plotted, meaning that not all of what they plotted was necessarily evil! That fine point needs to be translated too, so I suggest,
{40:45} So God protected him from the evils of what they plotted, and the worst of torment fenced in the people of Pharaoh -

Quote:
{40:46} The Fire, they are exposed to it morning and evening. And the Day the Hour appears [it will be said], "Make the people of Pharaoh enter the severest punishment."

I suggest,
{40:46} The Fire, they are exposed to it morning and evening. And the Day the Hour rises, [it will be said], "Admit the people of Pharaoh to the severest torment."

Quote:
{40:47} And [mention] when they will argue within the Fire, and the weak will say to those who had been arrogant, "Indeed, we were [only] your followers, so will you relieve us of a share of the Fire?"

I suggest,
{40:47} And [mention] when they will argue, in the Fire, and the weak will say to those who had deemed themselves big, "Verily, we were to you followers, so are you sparing us a share of the Fire?"

Quote:
{40:48} Those who had been arrogant will say, "Indeed, all [of us] are in it. Indeed, God has judged between the servants."

I suggest,
{40:48} Those who had deemed themselves big will say, "Indeed, We all are in it. Indeed, God has judged between the worshipers."
