Quote:
{35:44} Have they not traveled through the land and observed how was the end of those before them? And they were greater than them in power. But God is not to be caused failure by anything in the heavens or on the earth. Indeed, He is ever Knowing and Competent.

I suggest,
{35:44} Have they not walked in the land and observed how was the end of those before them? And they were tougher than them in strength. And God is not to be out-powered by anything in the heavens or in the earth. Indeed, He is very Knowledgeable, quite Powerful.

Quote:
{35:45} And if God were to impose blame on the people for what they have earned, He would not leave upon the earth any creature. But He defers them for a specified term. And when their time comes, then indeed God has ever been, of His servants, Seeing.

I suggest,
{35:45} And if God were to reprimand people for what they have earned, He would not have left upon the earth any moving creature. But He defers them for a named term. And when their time has come, then verily God has ever been, of His worshipers, All-Seeing.

I would use "the fate" instead of " the end." I also feel a bit funny about "tougher" (maybe because of its popular use in slang) but I couldn't find a better alternative.

Fate has a connotation of predestination, while عاقبة means "consequence." Why don't I use that?

{35:44} Have they not walked in the land and observed how was the consequence of those before them? And they were tougher than them in strength. And God is not to be out-powered by anything in the heavens or in the earth. Indeed, He is very Knowledgeable, quite Powerful.

Did you like my translation of أعجز as "out-power"? I think I finally found the best fitting translation of that tough word.

Great choice. I meant to comment on it, but got distracted by "the end" part that I didn't like. BTW, "the consequence" works.
