Quote:
{34:46} Say, "I only advise you of one [thing] - that you stand for God, [seeking truth] in pairs and individually, and then give thought." There is not in your companion any madness. He is only a warner to you before a severe punishment.
I suggest,
{34:46} Say, "I only advise you of one [thing] - that you stand up before God, in pairs and individually, and then reflect." There is not in your fellow (Muhammad) any madness. He is only a warner to you ahead of a severe torment.Quote:
{34:47} Say, "Whatever payment I might have asked of you - it is yours. My payment is only from God, and He is, over all things, Witness."
I suggest,
{34:47} Say, "Whatever reward I have asked of you - it is for you. My reward is only from God, and He is, over everything, Witness."Quote:
{34:48} Say, "Indeed, my Lord projects the truth. Knower of the unseen."
In this verse, God starts using a skirmish metaphor, where He likens the actions of disbelievers to aimless pelting and His call to perfect pelting.
I suggest,
{34:48} Say, "Verily, my Lord pelts with the truth. Omniscient of the Beyonds."Quote:
{34:50} Say, "If I should err, I would only err against myself. But if I am guided, it is by what my Lord reveals to me. Indeed, He is Hearing and near."
I suggest,
{34:50} Say, "If I had lost way, I only lose against myself. But if I found the way, it is by what my Lord revealed to me. Verily, He is All-Hearing and near."
