{2:112} Yes [on the contrary], whoever submits his face in Islam to God while being a doer of good will have his reward with his Lord. And no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve.

A better translation of بلى, IMHO, is "Nay." And of محسن is "benefactor." Thus, I suggest,

{2:112} Nay! Whoever submits his face in Islam to God while being a benefactor shall have his reward with his Lord. And no fear shall there be upon them, nor shall they grieve.

Quote:
{2:113} The Jews say "The Christians have nothing [true] to stand on," and the Christians say, "The Jews have nothing to stand on," although they [both] recite the Scripture. Thus the polytheists speak the same as their words. But God will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which they used to differ.

The Arabic does not name the polytheists, so the translation shouldn't either. The Arabic refers to "those who do not know." That includes the polytheists but is not limited to them.

Totally agree. A striking example of aggressive interpretation. I call it aggressive since there is a perfectly good straightforward translation, so someone must be trying to make a point at the expense of the fidelity of the translation.

{2:111} And they say, "Never will enter the Garden except one who has been [one of] those who returned remorseful (the Jews) or Christians." That is their wishes. Say, "Bring your proof, if you should be truthful."

{2:112} Nay! Whoever has yielded his countenance (submitted, i.e., was Muslim) to God while being a benefactor then for him is his reward with his Lord. And no fear shall there be upon them, nor shall they grieve.

{2:113} And said the Jews, "The Christians are not [standing] on a thing." And said the Christians, "The Jews are not [standing] on a thing," even while they [both] recite the Book. Thus uttered those who do not know similar to their uttering. But God [will] judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning what they have been thereon differing.
