Quote:
{2:191} And kill them wherever you overtake them and expel them from wherever they have expelled you, and fitnah [religious persecution] is worse than killing. And do not fight them at al-Masjid al-Haram until they fight you there. But if they fight you, then kill them. Such is the recompense of the disbelievers.

Good translation except that it transliterated too much, IMHO. "Fitna" is correctly explained, so I'd put the explanation between parentheses and "Al-Masjid al-Haram" is easily translated to "The Sacrosanct Mosque" as we mentioned before.

I would do away with "Fitna" altogether and just translate it to religious persecution.

OK. I suggest,

Quote:
{2:190} Fight in the way of God those who fight you but do not transgress. Indeed. God does not like transgressors.

I suggest,
{2:190} Fight in the way of God those who fight you but do not transgress. Verily. God does not like transgressors.

I suggest,
{2:191} And kill them wherever you have located them and expel them from wherever they have expelled you, and persecution is harder than killing. And do not fight them at the Sacrosanct Mosque until they fight you therein. But if they fight you, then kill them. Such is the recompense of the disbelievers.

Quote:
{2:192} And if they cease, then indeed, God is Forgiving and Merciful.

I suggest,
{2:192} Then if they cease, then verily, God is much Forgiving and Merciful.
