Quote:
{2:208} O you who have believed, enter into Islam completely [and perfectly] and do not follow the footsteps of Satan. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy.

While the consensus of exegesis is that السلم is Islam, nevertheless the word used in the verse literally means "peace."

I suggest,
{2:208} O you who have believed, enter into piece wholeheartedly and do not follow the footsteps of Satan. Verily, he is to you a clear enemy.

Quote:
{2:209} But if you deviate after clear proofs have come to you, then know that God is Exalted in Might and Wise.

زللتم means "you slipped" or "you skidded," not "you deviated." I'd translate it "if you slipped...",

{2:209} But if you have slipped after clear proofs have come to you, then know that God is Almighty and Wise.

Quote:
{2:210} Do they await but that God should come to them in covers of clouds and the angels [as well] and the matter is [then] decided? And to God [all] matters are returned.

I suggest,
{2:210} Do they await but that God should come to them in shades of the clouds and the angels [as well] and the matter is [then] concluded? And to God are returned [all] matters.
