Quote:
{2:258} Have you not considered the one who argued with Abraham about his Lord [merely] because God had given him kingship? When Abraham said, "My Lord is the one who gives life and causes death," he said, "I give life and cause death." Abraham said, "Indeed, God brings up the sun from the east, so bring it up from the west." So the disbeliever was overwhelmed [by astonishment], and God does not guide the wrongdoing people.
I suggest,
{2:258} Did you not see to the one who rebutted Abraham about his Lord [merely] because God had given him kingship? When Abraham said, "My Lord is the One who revives and deadens," he said, "I revive and deaden." Said Abraham, "Then verily, God brings up the sun from the east, so bring it up from the west." So was dumbfounded the one who disbelieved, and God does not guide the wrongdoing folk.Quote:
{2:259} Or [consider such an example] as the one who passed by a township which had fallen into ruin. He said, "How will God bring this to life after its death?" So God caused him to die for a hundred years; then He sent him out (resurrected him). He said, "How long have you remained?" The man said, "I have remained a day or part of a day." He said, "Rather, you have remained one hundred years. Look at your food and your drink; it has not changed with time. And look at your donkey; and We will make you a sign for the people. And look at the bones [of this donkey] - how We raise them and then We cover them with flesh." And when it became clear to him, he said, "I know that God is over all things competent."
I suggest,
{2:259} Or like the one who passed by a village, while it was drooping on its trellises. He said, "How would God revive this after its death?" So God deadened him for a hundred years and then sent him off [back to life]. He said, "How long have you stayed?" He said, "I stayed a day or a portion of a day." He said, "Nay, you stayed a hundred years. Now, look at your food and drink; they did not age. And look at your donkey (it became scattered bones). And that We make you a sign for people. And look at the bones - how We put them together and then clothe them with flesh." And when it became clear to him, he said, "I know that God is over everything Powerful."Quote:
{2:260} And [mention] when Abraham said, "My Lord, show me how You give life to the dead." [God] said, "Have you not believed?" He said, "Yes, but [I ask] only that my heart may be satisfied." [God] said, "Take four birds and commit them to yourself. Then [after slaughtering them] put on each hill a portion of them; then call them - they will come [flying] to you in haste. And know that God is Exalted in Might and Wise."
I suggest,
{2:260} And [mention] when Abraham said, "Lord, show me how You revive the dead." [God] said, "Have you not believed?" He said, "I have, but so that my heart may calm down." [God] said, "Take four birds and commit them to yourself. Then [after slaughtering them] put on each hill a portion of them; then call them - they will come [flying] to you in alacrity. And know that God is Almighty, Wise."
