{2:245} Who is it that would loan God a goodly loan so He may multiply it for him many times over? And it is God who withholds and grants abundance, and to Him you will be returned.

Great translation. I'd only change "grants abundance" in the last verse to "stretches out" to be closer to the Arabic word.

I would use "withholds and releases [the bounties]."

OK maybe the bounties is an overreach :)

{2:243} Did you not see to those who left their homes - and they were thousands - out of wariness of death? Then God said to them, "Die"; then He revived them. Verily, God has grace upon the people, but most of the people do not thank.

{2:244} And fight in the cause of God and know that God is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.

{2:245} Who is there who would loan God a goodly loan so He may multiply it for him many multiples? And God constrains and extends, and to Him you are returned.
