The Arabic says "one community", not "one religion", so I'd like to stick to what the Arabic said without interpretation, which also means I'd drop the interjection, "before their deviation."
بغيا does not exactly mean jealous animosity. The origin of this word is the verb
بغى which the Arabic dictionary defines as meaning "to seek what is not yours without merit." So, I suggest "out of excessive ambitions amongst themselves" instead of "out of jealous animosity among themselves."

I mentioned before that I like to reserve the word "Paradise" to translate
الفردوس and directly translate
الجنة as "the Garden."
I suggest,

Misfortune and hardship touched them and they were shaken until the messenger and those who believed with him would say,"When is the help of God?" Lo! verily, the help of God is near.
