Quote:
{30:25} And of His signs is that the heaven and earth remain by His command. Then when He calls you with a [single] call from the earth, immediately you will come forth.
While the translation "remain" is born by the Arabic and supported by other verses elsewhere, I think that the verb means "to carry out His command." This is why God follows it with the "calls you from the earth". In other words, the earth executes God's command of releasing the content of its graves. So, I suggest,
{30:25} And of His signs is that the heaven and earth uphold His command. Then when He calls you with a [single] call from the earth, immediately you will come forth.Quote:
{30:27} And it is He who begins creation; then He repeats it, and that is [even] easier for Him. To Him belongs the highest attribute in the heavens and earth. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
As much as I like the translation "attribute", it isn't a linguistically accurate one. The Arabic says "similitude", so that's what I'd like to use,
{30:27} And it is He who begins creation; then He repeats it, and that is [even] easier for Him. To Him belongs the loftiest similitude in the heavens and earth. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
