Quote:
{30:28} He presents to you an example from yourselves. Do you have among those whom your right hands possess any partners in what We have provided for you so that you are equal therein [and] would fear them as your fear of one another [within a partnership]? Thus do We detail the verses for a people who use reason.
This verse is hard to translate without elaboration. Sarwar's translation is best, though it skips the linguistics and jumps to the meaning. I suggest,
{30:28} He has struck for you a parable from yourselves: Would you have any partners from among what your right hands possess (slaves) in what We have provided you (wealth) so that you are therein equal - fearing them as you fear one another? Thus do We detail the verses to a folk who reason.Quote:
{30:29} But those who wrong follow their [own] desires without knowledge. Then who can guide one whom God has sent astray? And for them there are no helpers.
I suggest,
{30:29} Rather have followed - those who have wronged - their fancies without knowledge. Then who [can] guide one whom God has let stray? And there are not for them any helpers.
