{21:21} Or have they (disbelievers) taken for themselves gods from the earth who resurrect?

{21:22} Had there been within the heavens and earth gods besides God, they both would have been ruined. So exalted is God, Lord of the Throne, above what they describe.

I suggest,
{21:22} If there had been in the two of them (the heavens and the earth) deities besides God, surely they both would have been ruined. So, sanctified is God, Lord of the Throne, above what they ascribe.
