Quote:
{18:42} And his fruits were encompassed [by ruin], so he began to turn his hands about [in dismay] over what he had spent on it, while it had collapsed upon its trellises, and said, "Oh, I wish I had not associated with my Lord anyone."
I suggest,
{18:42} And his fruit was surrounded (decimated). He met the morning turning his palms [of his hands] about (a gesture of sorrow), over what he had spent on it, while it was drooping on its trellises, and said, "Oh, I wish I had not associated with my Lord anyone [in worship]."Quote:
{18:43} And there was for him no company to aid him other than God, nor could he defend himself.
I suggest,
{18:43} And there was not for him a company to help him besides God, nor would he have been victor.Quote:
{18:44} There the authority is [completely] for God, the Truth. He is best in reward and best in outcome.
I suggest,
{18:44} There the power to protect is for God, the Truth. He is better in reward and better in requite.Quote:
{18:45} And present to them the example of the life of this world, [its being] like rain which We send down from the sky, and the vegetation of the earth mingles with it and [then] it becomes dry remnants, scattered by the winds. And God is ever, over all things, Perfect in Ability.
I suggest,
{18:45} And strike for them the parable of [this] the nearest life: like water We send down from the sky, then mixes with it the vegetation of the earth, then it meets the morning (becomes) stubble, blown by the winds. And God is ever, over everything, fully Powerful."Quote:
{18:46} Wealth and children are [but] adornment of the worldly life. But the enduring good deeds are better to your Lord for reward and better for [one's] hope.
I suggest,
{18:46} Property and children are the adornment of [this] the nearest life. But the enduring good [deeds] are better with your Lord in reward and better aspiration.
