{12:4} [Of these stories mention] when Joseph said to his father, "O my father, indeed I have seen [in a dream] eleven stars and the sun and the moon; I saw them prostrating to me."

أبت is an endearment of "my father." I'd like to carry that semantic in the translation,
{12:4} [Of these stories mention] when Joseph said to his father, "O my dear father, verily, I have seen [in a dream] eleven planets and the sun and the moon; I saw them to me prostrating."

Quote:
{12:5} He said, "O my son, do not relate your vision to your brothers or they will contrive against you a plan. Indeed Satan, to man, is a manifest enemy.

Likewise, بني is an endearment of "my son". I suggest,
{12:5} He said, "O my dear son, do not relate your vision to your brothers or they will contrive against you a plot. Indeed Satan, to man, is a manifest enemy.

I agree with the endearment in both cases. The only remark is why "mention" in the explanatory [Of these stories mention]? I would say [Of these stories is].

I concur,
{12:4} [Of these stories is] when Joseph said to his father, "O my dear father, verily, I have seen [in a dream] eleven planets and the sun and the moon; I saw them to me prostrating."
