I don't see an "although" in the Arabic. I suggest, {12:3} We narrate to you [, O Muhammad,] the most beautiful of stories in what We have revealed to you this Quran. And you certainly were before it among the unaware. |

And you certainly were before it among the unaware. Maybe not although but the Arabic expression does suggest a 'contrast'. Perhaps we can use "even as you were" or something. |
