Quote:
{12:23} And she, in whose house he was, sought to seduce him. She closed the doors and said, "Come, you." He said, "[I seek] the refuge of God. Indeed, he is my master, who has made good my residence. Indeed, wrongdoers will not succeed."

I suggest,
{12:23} And she, in whose house he was, sought to seduce him from his [pure] self. She closed the doors and said, "This is for you." He said, "[I seek] the refuge of God. Verily, he is my lord; he has made good my place of rest. Verily, wrongdoers do not succeed."

Quote:
{12:24} And she certainly determined [to seduce] him, and he would have inclined to her had he not seen the proof of his Lord. And thus [it was] that We should avert from him evil and immorality. Indeed, he was of Our chosen servants.

I suggest,
{12:24} And she surely made a move toward him and he made a move toward her if not that he saw evidence of his lord. And thus [it was] in order that We divert from him evil and debauchery. Indeed, he was of Our elect worshipers.
