Al-Khazraji report in his book نفس الصباح في غريب القرآن وناسخه ومنسوخه, volume 1, page 431 this strange claim made by Abdur-Rahmaan ibn Zayd ibn Aslam, that

was abrogated by

He adds that even Ibn Hazm Al-Andalusi and Ibn Salaama said there was no abrogation here. They said that the consensus of all exegetes, except Ibn Zayd, is that there is no abrogation here.

I wish any of those folks mentioned why Ibn Zayd said that, what was his argument? Since the two verses are identical except for their epilogues, the only conclusion from an abrogation claim is that the clause إن الإنسان لظلوم كفار (verily, man surely is oft unjust and ungrateful) is no longer valid!

For:
Abdur-Rahmaan ibn Zayd ibn Aslam,
Al-Khazraji.

Against:
Aş-Şa`di,
Ibn Hazm Al-Andalusi,
Ibn Salaama,
Dr. Mustafa Zayd.

P.S. This is the first abrogation claim where I see the names Ibn Hazm Al-Andalusi and Ibn Salaama appear in the "Against" column!
