Despite the consensus of scholars that Chapters 55 and 56 have no abrogated verses, one man, Muqaatil ibn Sulaymaan, managed to find one! He said that

Were abrogated by

It looks like exegete Ar-Raazi agreed, but maybe he was explaining Muqaatil's argument when he said,

Brief translation: The companions of the Prophet (PBUH) felt bad that they are a few then 56:39-40 were revealed.

God does not tell us what distinguishes the group about whom 56:13-14 are from the group about whom 56:39-40 are. They are two different groups of believers. It is obvious that the first group is more favored. Why? It must be because they had stronger faith and have done greater works! Paradise has ranks. So, what is the need to claim abrogation?

Is this for real? The Chapter is explicit about which group is which. 56:13-14 applies to the top tier

as evidenced by the quality of their rewards, while 56:39-40 applies to the next tier

as evidenced by the good, but not as good, rewards they get. Even if you don't go into the relative qualities of each group, the fact that they are distinct groups is explicit

hence having different compositions for these groups carries no contradiction.
