This topic is designed to tally the opinions of scholars regarding the notion of abrogation and the specific claims of abrogation. Please reply with info that belongs here and I'll maintain this topic using your comments, insha-Allah. By abrogation, we mean here the definition used in this thesis, namely that some verses in the Quran have been abrogated in ruling but not in recitation; they remain in the text but their rulings are no longer to be followed.

Good idea. I think here and in the "who said what" attached to the individual threads of specific abrogation claims, we should include a clickable reference of where the information comes from so that it is easy to use the material when the time comes. There may be redundancy between this thread and the individual abrogation claim threads, but that's fine.

I meant for this topic to tally those other topics, but the idea of back links is a good one. Do you mean that the links here would take you to the "Who said what" posts of individual cases?

I meant external references in the public domain that a book would be able to refer to. If we do that as we go, the task of putting it together will become less daunting. As far as individual abrogation claims of verses are concerned, I don't think we should worry too much about redundancy or cross referencing, as it will be easy to sort it out since we are likely to go through the thread of a particular claim in detail as we prepare to write up the corresponding section.
