Quote:
{104:1} Woe to every scorner and mocker

A better translation would be,
{104:1} Woe to every insinuator and maligner.

Quote:
{104:4} No! He will surely be thrown into the Crusher.

"Crusher" is the best word to translate الحطمة.

Quote:
{104:5} And what can make you know what is the Crusher?

Should be,
{104:5} And what could make you understand what the Crusher is?

Quote:
{104:7} Which mounts directed at the hearts.

This and other translations all seem to understand تطـَّلِع as to rise above or to mount. But it means to look up or out. Consider,

So, I suggest,
{104:7} Which reaches over to the hearts.

Quote:
{104:8} Indeed, Hellfire will be closed down upon them

"Hellfire" is not mentioned in this verse, so shouldn't be in the translation.

{104:8} Verily, it will be locking them up.

Although "reaches over" is the best of the alternatives given, it is missing a part of the meaning (as I perceive it) which is to be able to see.

Good point, especially since "reaches over" does not necessarily mean touching, which is intended by the Arabic. That said, the Fire being able to see is a an allegory obviously. Perhaps تطلع على is a different semantic and the aspect of "rising above" is valid.

The Hans Wehr dictionary has a simple solution to this: "Looks into!"

So, I suggest,
{104:7} Which looks into the hearts.

I also suggest,

{104:3} He thinks that his wealth has immortalized him.

{104:4} No! He will surely be left out in the Crusher.

{104:6} [It is] the fire of God, [eternally] fueled,
