Two remarks: 1. "Filth" is a bit strong. I know it's hard to translate the Arabic word, but I think we should try a bit more. 2. "Protection tax" is vulnerable to being associated with "protection money" which has an illegal connotation. |

Take your pick from: impurity, soil, taint, defilement. |

Take your pick from: impurity, soil, taint, defilement. 1. Defense tax is good. 2. I would choose between soil and taint, since the meaning is causing other things to become dirty. Between the two, I would pick taint. |
