Excellent translation. I just wanted to note that 9:113, which has been claimed to abrogate 17:24, actually disproves the abrogation claim within itself! That is because God says in it من بعد ماتبين لهم (after it has become clear to them).

I also would like to point out the distinction between forgiveness and mercy in the two verses.
