Quote:
{3:127} That He might cut down a section of the disbelievers or suppress them so that they turn back disappointed.
I suggest,
{3:127} That He might cut down an extremity out of those who have disbelieved or muzzle them so that they turn back failing.Quote:
{3:128} Not for you, [O Muhammad, but for God], is the decision whether He should [cut them down] or forgive them or punish them, for indeed, they are wrongdoers.
I suggest,
{3:128} - Not for you [, O Muhammad,] of the matter is aught - or He might forgive them or He might torment them, for verily, they are wrongdoers.Quote:
{3:129} And to God belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. He forgives whom He wills and punishes whom He wills. And God is Forgiving and Merciful.
I'd change "on the earth" to "in the earth" as the Arabic says. "On the earth" excludes what's inside it, but "in the earth" does not exclude what's on its surface. I suggest,
{3:129} And to God belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth. He forgives whom He wills and torments whom He wills. And God is much Forgiving and Merciful.
