These are the eight verses that shook the essence of Umar ibn Al-Khattab, may God have been pleased with him, when he read them. He immediately accepted Islam after it.
Quote:
{20:2} We have not sent down to you the Quran that you be distressed
I suggest,
{20:2} We have not sent down upon you the Quran so that you would suffer.Quote:
{20:4} A revelation from He who created the earth and highest heavens,
I believe
العلا means "the high", not "the highest." The highest is العليا. So, I suggest,
{20:4} A revelation from He who created the earth and the high heavens.Quote:
{20:5} The Beneficent [who is] above the Throne established.
I suggest,
{20:5} The Beneficent; on the Throne He has established Himself.Quote:
{20:7} And if you speak aloud - then indeed, He knows the secret and what is [even] more hidden.
I suggest,
{20:7} And whether you utter the words loud, verily, He knows the secret and what is [even] more hidden.Quote:
{20:8} God - there is no deity except Him. To Him belong the best names.
I suggest,
{20:8} God; there is no deity but He. His are the most beautiful names.
