I suggest,

{2:264} O you who have believed, do not invalidate your charities with obliging [reminders of them] and hurt as [does] one who spends his wealth as spectacle for people and does not believe in God and the Final Day. Thus, his parable is like the parable of a smooth boulder upon which is dust and was hit by a downpour that left it stark. They cannot access out of what they had earned anything. And God does not guide the disbelieving folk.

{2:265} And the parable of those who spend their riches desiring the approval of God and steadying of themselves is like the parable of a garden by a gorge which was hit by a downpour - so it gave out its esculent twofold. But if it was not hit by a downpour, then a drizzle. And God, of what you do, is All-Seeing.

{2:266} Would one of you like to have a garden of palm trees and grapevines, flowing beneath which are rivers, in which he has from all fruits, then he was hit with old age and he has weak offspring, then it was hit by a whirlwind in which is fire so it burned? Thus does God clarify to you the signs that perhaps you might contemplate.
