Quote:
{2:238} Maintain with care the [obligatory] prayers and [in particular] the middle prayer and stand before God, devoutly obedient.

I see no reason for the two interjections, so I suggest,

{2:238} Keep the prayers and the middle prayer and stand before God devotingly.

Quote:
{2:239} And if you fear [an enemy, then pray] on foot or riding. But when you are secure, then remember God [in prayer], as He has taught you that which you did not [previously] know.

I suggest,
{2:239} And if you feared [a danger, then pray] on foot or riding. Then when you have become secure, then remember God, as He has taught you what you had not known.

I agree about removing the interjections and removing "obedient," but I prefer "Maintain" to "Keep."
