Quote:
{2:188} And do not consume one another's wealth unjustly or send it [in bribery] to the rulers in order that [they might aid] you [to] consume a portion of the wealth of the people in sin, while you know [it is unlawful].
I suggest,
{2:188} And do not consume your properties among yourselves in falsehood and dangle them toward the rulers such that you consume a segment of the properties of people in sin, while you know [that it is unlawful].Quote:
{2:189} They ask you, [O Muhammad], about the new moons. Say, "They are measurements of time for the people and for hajj." And it is not righteousness to enter houses from the back, but righteousness is [in] one who fears Allah. And enter houses from their doors. And fear God that you may succeed.
مواقيت does not mean
measurements of time; it means time or place
markers. The specific spots where a pilgrim must change into Ihraam clothing are called "mawaaqeet" too. I suggest,
{2:189} They ask you [, O Muhammad,] about the crescents. Say they are timers for people and the pilgrimage. It is not goodness that you enter homes from their backs, but goodness is he who has watched out [for God]. So, enter homes from their doors and watch out for God that perhaps you may prosper.
